Green Public Procurement Training Supports

The Environmental Protection Agency has been supporting the implementation of Green Public Procurement, recognising the opportunity to convert environmental policy objectives into delivered actions through incorporation of green criteria into public purchasing.

Updated GPP guidance was published last September and a training programme developed for public sector procurers & specifiers has been delivered to over 100 public sector organisations since 2020.

Given the important role that suppliers will play in the transition to GPP, the EPA has now launched two training supports for suppliers of goods and services to the public sector in Ireland.

The first is a short video which provides a brief introduction to Green Public Procurement to suppliers. The video can be viewed here.

The second is a training presentation which follows on from the introductory video and provides more detailed information for suppliers. Its purpose is to provide background information, advice and practical tips on Green Public Procurement. The presentation can be viewed here.
