National Financial Literacy Strategy

On July  6th 2023, the Minister for Finance launched the National Financial Literacy Strategy. The Department of Finance has developed a stakeholder survey which is open until 15th September. It will enable participants to provide details of their current activities in financial literacy and education, and their opinion on what a national strategy for financial literacy in Ireland should look like.

 The survey is part of an initial mapping phase to inform the development of the strategy and seeks to gather information on;

  • the existence of financial literacy programmes and financial education initiatives across government departments, state agencies, civil society, NGOs, representative bodies and the financial sector;
  • to map access to financial education across the population;
  • to identifying areas of financial literacy gaps;
  • to target audiences for interventions.
